The TEMPUS 2010 CIBELES project aims to enhance higher education in environmental studies within the three specializations through the application of the Bologna Process at all three levels: Bachelor's - Master's - Doctoral studies. This project promotes cooperation between EU and Central Asian countries in the field of environmental studies, as well as the training of managers and specialists in Central Asia to improve environmental protection.
The project has the following objectives:
- To fully implement the objectives of the Bologna Process in environmental studies in at least three countries in Central Asia and Georgia, using the full Bologna information package for countries such as Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan
- Upgrading of curricula in three bachelor's specialties (forestry, industrial safety, ecology of water and soil)
- Create a master's degree in environmental protection and quality management
- Create 21 schools for Ph.D in the above specialties in Central Asia and Georgia
- Improve the professional skills of 120 teachers
- Prepare 480 bachelors and 150 masters in the pilot project during the first year of implementation
- Improve the ability of students to find work
- Prepare a base for the introduction of two-diploma education by magistracy and doctoral studies between EU and Central Asian partners in environmental research
- Prepare five accreditation centers according to ISO 14000
The program TEMPUS 2010 CIBELES is aimed at:
- Reforming and improving the system of higher education in partner countries
- Provisioning the opportunities for higher education in partner countries
- Improving the links between higher education institutions and research institutions both in partner countries and in EU countries
- Improving the academic courses of academic disciplines, using the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), a three-cycle training system and recognition of the scientific degree in partner countries
