The TEMPUS 2010 CIBELES project aims to enhance higher education in environmental studies within the three specializations through the application of the Bologna Process at all three levels: Bachelor's - Master's - Doctoral studies. This project promotes cooperation between EU and Central Asian countries in the field of environmental studies, as well as the training of managers and specialists in Central Asia to improve environmental protection.

Project Objectives —

- Prepare five ISO 14000 accreditation centers

- Prepare the kidney for the introduction of double-degree master's and doctoral education between EU and Central Asian partners in environmental studies

- Improve students' ability to find jobs

- Train 480 bachelors and 150 masters in a pilot project during the first year of implementation

- Improve the professional skills of 120 teachers

- Establish 21 Ph.D. schools in the above-mentioned specialties in Central Asia and Georgia

- Create a master's degree in environmental protection and quality management

- Updating curricula for three undergraduate majors (forestry, industrial safety, water and soil ecology)

- Fully realize the goals of the Bologna Process in environmental studies in at least three countries of Central Asia and Georgia, applying the full Bologna Information Package for countries such as Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan

The program is aimed at —

• improvement of academic courses using the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), the three-cycle training system, and degree recognition in partner countries
• improving links between higher education institutions and research institutes in both partner countries and the EU
• provision of opportunities for higher education in partner countries
• reforming and improving the higher education system in partner countries
