Information about the work of Silver University
Silver University is a platform for third–age citizens to receive additional and non-formal education in the general concept of continuing education in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Silver University has been operating at Kokshetau University named after Sh. Ualikhanov since 2021.
During the period of operation, the project has received recognition from the older generation of citizens living in the city of Kokshetau and in the Akmola region. Silver University is constantly expanding the areas of activity and the list of educational programs, introducing various formats of extracurricular activities for students, teachers, specialists and students of the University named after Sh. Ualikhanov are involved as speakers.
Number of students at the Silver University by year: 2021 - 112, 2022 - 89, 2023 – 88, 2024 - 134 a human being.
In the 2024-2025 academic year, students will be offered the following courses:
- English for beginners;
- English for continuing learners;
- Kazakh language;
- Psychology;
- Recreational physical education;
- Computer and digital literacy;
- Visual arts;
- Art (sewing for beginners);
- Art (sewing for advanced students);
- Social Media Marketing;
- Fundamentals of financial and legal literacy
In order to regulate the activities, the Regulations on the activities of the Silver University named after Sh.Ualikhanov. The academic model has been approved.
In 2024, Kokshetau University named after Sh.Ualikhanov joined the International Association of Universities of the Third Age (AIUTA). In September 2024, the President of the international association, Mr. Francois Velasu, visited the university to present the AIUTA Membership Certificate.
In 2025, on the initiative of the KU named after Sh.The Kazakhstan Association of Silver Universities, which includes 11 universities of Kazakhstan, has been established by Ualikhanov.
