Readers’ service sector

The service sector is one of the major structural units of the library of KU named after Sh. Ualikhanov. The staff of the department provides librarian and informational support of the educational and methodological process, scientific and pedagogical and research activities of the university.

The main objectives of the department:

Complete and prompt library and bibliographic service to readers with literature in accordance with their information requests;
Formation of the department fund in accordance with curricula and educational programs of schools;
Provision of safety of library book fund;
Fostering informational culture.

Delivery Desk

The delivery desk room of educational literature is located in the academic building № 2 (30 Temirbekova St.) on the first floor (room 100).

Library users have access to the fund in all branches of knowledge: textbooks and textbooks, collected works of classics of science, modern domestic and foreign scientists, series of publications of general scientific or special type, as well as popular scientific literature in Kazakh, Russian, English

Reading Room №1

The reading room of universal literature is located in the academic building № 2 on the first floor (room 112). Readers have access to educational, scientific and popular literature on science, pedagogy, psychology, philology, etc. For those who want to learn foreign languages there are textbooks, teaching aids, dictionaries and reference books. The room is constantly exhibiting exhibitions for significant events and anniversaries, and presentations of new acquisitions.

E-Reading Room № 2

Electronic Reading Room № 2 is located in the main academic building on the 76 Abay St. The room provides information to users via the accessible Internet, readers can work with electronic databases of the library. The collection contains popular motivational bestsellers donated by Azamat Utenov, which are popular among students.

Reading room number 4 is located in the classroom building № 4, at 24 Akan Seri St. (room 221). Readers have access to educational, scientific, methodical, reference and popular literature on economics, philosophy, law and jurisprudence, religious studies, history and political science, cultural studies and sociology. Presentations, exhibitions and public programs are held to promote the collection and to present the latest acquisitions.
