On October 29-30, in Astana, the head of the Department of Morphology, Physiology and General Pathology Banurzhan Bayanovich Zhangalov took part in a seminar for researchers, teachers and experts in the field of forecasting, modeling and analysis of the effectiveness of vaccination programs organized by the World Health Organization (WHO) together with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
The main goal of the seminar is to train participants in data analysis using the WHO UNIVAC tool, which allows assessing the cost-effectiveness of investments in immunization programs and modeling the impact of increasing vaccination coverage on indicators such as morbidity and mortality in the long term. The speakers of the seminar will be Professor Kaja Abbas and George Young from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (UK).
