Topicality

This research is dedicated to the study of communication strategies through the development of research competencies for effective cross-cultural interaction within Kazakhstan’s linguistic environment. In the context of growing globalization and cultural diversity, Kazakhstan represents a unique setting where different ethnic groups and languages coexist. The aim of this project is to analyze existing communication strategies and develop recommendations for their optimization to enhance mutual understanding and cooperation between different cultures.Globalization, and the consequent ethnodemographic processes occurring globally, have a significant impact on changes in the ethnopolitical landscape and international relations, including in the Republic of Kazakhstan, where ensuring equal conditions for all ethnic groups has become a critical development factor. On the one hand, globalization blurs the boundaries between countries and regions. On the other hand, it intensifies public debates surrounding the issues of national languages, cultures, and mental characteristics. These processes gradually emerged against the backdrop of profound geopolitical shifts within the global community, starting in the second half of the last century.Kazakhstan’s ethnopolitics is based on the constitutional principles of the state, which prioritize human and civil rights. For instance, according to the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, “everyone has the right to use their own language” (Article 7), underscoring the importance of linguistic diversity. Additionally, the Law on Languages of the Republic of Kazakhstan sets forth the principles of a language policy aimed at promoting multilingualism and the harmonious coexistence of cultures. The State Program “Rukhani Zhangyru” includes measures for the development of intercultural competence, affirming the relevance of this research. These regulatory documents provide a framework for understanding the context in which cross-cultural interaction occurs in Kazakhstan and highlight the importance of developing effective communication strategies. This underscores the relevance of the project’s topic and will complement the existing theoretical foundation and practical experience in this field. As part of the study, surveys, interviews, and focus groups will be conducted, along with an examination of successful cases of cross-cultural interaction. It is expected that the results will help develop research competencies and offer new approaches to cross-cultural communication. The development of practical recommendations and a textbook based on the study findings will contribute to improving social interaction within Kazakhstan’s linguistic landscape and foster research skills among students. The scientific novelty of this work focuses on the unique aspects of cross-cultural interaction in Kazakhstan, considering its multilingualism and cultural diversity, which enables the identification of specific communication practices that promote effective communication. The results of this research will be valuable both to the academic community and practitioners engaged in intercultural interaction within and beyond Kazakhstan. This study aims to contribute to the harmonization of relationships in a multilingual and multicultural environment, which is a pressing issue in contemporary society.
