Students of Ualikhanov University Attend an Open Demonstration Court Hearing
On March 5, 2026, students of Ualikhanov University participated in an open demonstration court hearing organized under the “Law and Order” initiative in cooperation with the Akmola Regional Court and the Prosecutor's Office of Akmola Region.
The open court hearing was held in a criminal case under Article 297, Part 3, Clauses 1 and 3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which covers the illegal acquisition, storage, transportation for the purpose of distribution, and sale of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
The demonstration hearing was conducted in two formats. About 100 students attended the session in person in the courtroom, while approximately 200 students followed the proceedings online via video broadcast in a university classroom. This format helped introduce a broad student audience to the work of the judicial system.
During the hearing, special attention was given to the issue of so-called “drug stash” schemes, which have become a serious threat among young people today. In many cases, young people perceive involvement in such illegal activities as an easy way to earn quick money without fully understanding the legal risks and consequences. However, the distribution of narcotics and participation in drug trafficking are classified as serious crimes and carry severe criminal penalties.
The demonstration open court hearing allowed students to observe the real-life consequences of unlawful behavior and emphasized the importance of law-abiding conduct. The event aimed to enhance legal awareness among youth, prevent offenses, and promote a responsible attitude toward the law.
