Startup Project“Energy-Generating Exercise Bike
Winners of the 2025 «StartUp Project» сompetition.
As of early 2026, the project is at the stage of technical implementation.
The concept of the project is based on converting human kinetic energy into electrical energy.
The founders and authors of the startup project are 4th-year students of the Pedagogical Institute, Department of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics — Saltanat Aitbekova and Asyltas Kappasova.
The project curator/supervisor is Nurgul Naizabekovna Shuyushbayeva, Associate Professor of the Department of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics.
The total grant funding amounts to 602,000 tenge.
Main mission of the startup:
1. Health + Energy
The project combines physical activity with electricity generation, allowing users to improve their health while simultaneously producing useful energy.
- 2. Environmental Friendliness and Energy Efficiency
The exercise bike uses a renewable energy source — human muscle power — reducing electricity consumption from traditional sources and promoting environmental awareness.
- 3. Promotion of a Healthy Lifestyle
The startup encourages people to engage in regular physical activity, which is especially relevant for students, office workers, and young people with a sedentary lifestyle.
- 4. Practical Application
The project can be used as an educational and demonstration tool to illustrate the laws of physics and principles of alternative energy, as well as a practical device for installation in parks, protected natural areas, or tourist routes where access to charging devices is limited.
- 5. Social Significance of the Project
The startup addresses several socially important challenges at once: promoting a healthy lifestyle, rational use of energy, and fostering responsible attitudes toward the environment.
- 6. Innovation and Interdisciplinarity
The project lies at the intersection of physics, engineering, computer science, and pedagogy, which increases its scientific and educational value.
- 7. Accessibility and Scalability
The design of the exercise bike can be adapted to various operating conditions and scaled for mass use in sports and social facilities.
