Science Department
The Science Department is a division of the Department of Science and Research Training, coordinating research activities in accordance with the country's strategic priorities. The Science Department focuses on the implementation of the President's Address to the People of Kazakhstan, the "Kazakhstan-2050" Strategy, and the State Program for the Development of Education and Science for 2020-2025. The university's scientific agenda is closely integrated with the Akmola Region territorial development programs and its own regional engagement strategy.
The university's research activities are aimed at implementing the President's Address to the People of Kazakhstan, the "Kazakhstan-2050" Strategy, the State Program for the Development of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2020-2025, the State Program for the Development of Regions for 2020-2025, the Akmola Region Territorial Development Program, and the Development Program of the KU named after Ualikhanov in the direction of "Scientific Work and Interaction with the Region" for 2021-2023 and other strategic and program documents.
Research work (hereinafter referred to as R&D) is conducted in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Science" dated February 18, 2011, the Regulation on National Scientific Councils approved by the Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated May 16, 2011 No. 519, the Rules for Basic, Grant, and Program-Targeted Financing of Scientific and (or) Scientific and Technical Activities approved by the Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated May 25, 2011 No. 575, and the Rules for Conducting State Scientific and Technical Expertise approved by the Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated August 1, 2011 No. 891.
The main areas of activity are the publication of scientific journals and supports the publication activities of scientists. The university regularly hosts large-scale scientific conferences and maintains a transparent database of relevant research projects. Particular attention is paid to the commercialization of research results and the development of young scientists through the research work system and the Shoqan Research initiative.
Key decisions are coordinated by the Scientific and Technical Council and the Dissertation Council, while the Research Ethics Committee oversees compliance with academic standards. The Council of Young Scientists and Students, which brings together early-career researchers at the university, plays an active role in shaping the future of the scientific community. The department strives to create an effective scientific ecosystem that fosters the growth of human resources and the prosperity of the region.
