Admission to NAO ‘Kokshetau University named after Sh. Ualikhanov’ for applicants with special educational needs with special educational needs is accompanied by the necessary support measures, providing equal access to quality education and comfortable conditions at all stages of education.

An applicant with special educational needs should receive full information about the availability of a barrier-free environment in academic buildings and dormitories: ramps, lifts, widened doorways, sanitary and hygienic rooms equipped with the needs of persons with disabilities. It is important to know that the university is consistently working to ensure physical and information accessibility of the educational process.

Applicants should familiarise themselves with the list of educational programmes for which they can enrol, as well as with the possibility of studying according to an individual curriculum adapted to their health and recommendations of the medical and social expertise. The University provides psychological, pedagogical and tutor support, including by coordinators of inclusive education.

Within the framework of academic mobility and educational process, flexible forms of learning are used - electronic resources, distance technologies, support in classrooms and library. Students with special educational needs are provided with access to educational programmes.

The applicant should also be informed about the possibility to participate in scholarship programmes, social support, counselling and adaptation activities. The University regularly organises professional development courses for teaching staff on inclusive education, which allows to create a comfortable and safe educational environment.
