Kazakhstan has for the first time presented its higher education sector at one of the largest international education platforms in China - the China Study Abroad Forum (CSAF) and the China International Education Exhibition Tour (CIEET), which began on April 10 in Beijing.
This important event marked a significant step in promoting Kazakhstan’s national higher education system on the international stage. Kazakhstan’s participation aims to develop the export potential of educational services and expand international academic partnerships.
The forum brought together more than 500 participants from leading universities and educational organizations from China, the United States, the United Kingdom, Russia, Australia, Italy, Spain, Greece, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, and other countries. Kazakhstan presented its national pavilion, “Kazakhstan - the Territory of Academic Knowledge,” where 27 leading universities showcased their educational programs.
Particular attention was given to the “Study in Kazakhstan” initiative - a unified digital platform designed to attract international students. As part of the national policy, Kazakhstan has set an ambitious goal to increase the number of international students to 100,000 by 2029.
In her speech, Gulzat Kobenova, Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, emphasized that Kazakhstan’s participation is not merely a demonstration of opportunities, but also a clear sign of the country’s readiness for deep and mutually beneficial educational cooperation with international partners.
For Sh. Ualikhanov Kokshetau University, participation in this exhibition is of strategic importance. It provides an opportunity not only to present the university’s educational programs to a broad international audience, but also to establish new academic connections, expand partnership networks, and attract international students. In the context of the globalization of education, such platforms are becoming key instruments for enhancing the competitiveness of regional universities and integrating them into the global educational space.
Participation in CSAF and CIEET represents an investment in the university’s future, strengthening its international reputation and supporting its development as a modern, open, and competitive educational center.
