Participants of the Silver University at Ualikhanov University are becoming increasingly active users of electronic resources available to citizens of Kazakhstan. Purchasing tickets for all types of transport, visiting theaters and cinemas, using the e-Gov state services portal, Internet banking, and submitting civil requests through government portals have become a common part of life for the older generation. At the same time, a sense of concern about online fraud remains completely natural.

November 5, 2025, a master class titled “Information Security” was held for the participants. The speaker was Alexander Pavlov, Information Security Officer of the University.

During the session, the audience discussed the main types of fraud, methods of protecting personal data and financial assets, and learned the algorithm of actions to take in case they become victims of fraudsters. Participants also received written instructions on safe practices when using banking applications and WhatsApp.

The master class concluded with a practical exercise — configuring security settings in several mobile applications on the participants’ personal devices.

The high professional competence of A. Pavlov and his thorough preparation for the session enabled participants to gain valuable skills in protecting their data when using various technical tools in everyday life.

Participants expressed their gratitude to the organizers for providing such timely and relevant information and look forward to the next session.
