Students of the Higher School of Business and Law Hold Mock Court Hearing
Today at Ualikhanov University, as part of the “Law and Order” initiative and with the support of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Akmola Region, students from the Higher School of Business and Law’s “Jurisprudence” program held a mock court hearing on the topic of illegal drug trafficking. The event brought together students and faculty from other schools and institutes of the university, who observed the proceedings.
The main goal of the event was to improve students’ legal awareness, promote respect for the law, and help prevent unlawful behavior. Through the mock trial, participants engaged with a case based on real-life events and were able to draw meaningful conclusions.
The students demonstrated each stage of the court process at a high level, confidently taking on the roles of judge, prosecutor, defense attorney, and other participants. The exercise highlighted the importance of legal norms, the need to uphold the law, and the responsibility involved in delivering fair judgments.
Such practice-based activities not only serve an educational purpose but also help law students bridge the gap between theory and practice. In addition, they contribute to the development of critical thinking, communication skills, and professional competence.
Ualikhanov University actively collaborates with law enforcement agencies. The university not only prepares qualified professionals but also places strong emphasis on shaping responsible, law-abiding citizens.
