Representatives of Kazakhstani higher education institutions recently visited top universities in China. During the visit, Zhaylagul Sagyndykova, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation at Ualikhanov University, held official meetings with the leadership of Dalian Polytechnic University and Beijing University of Chinese Medicine.
At Dalian Polytechnic University, both sides reached an agreement to launch joint double-degree programs in Engineering and Food Industry starting in 2026.
Discussions with Beijing University of Chinese Medicine focused on expanding cooperation within Ualikhanov University’s Graduate School of Medicine. Topics included academic mobility for faculty and students, as well as the development of joint double-degree programs.
Dalian Polytechnic University is a leading state technical university in the region, hosting over 20,000 students and maintaining partnerships with more than 100 universities worldwide. The university specializes in engineering, light and food industries, food science, textiles, and design, and actively participates in research projects in collaboration with industry.
Beijing University of Chinese Medicine is one of China’s top institutions in the field of traditional Chinese medicine. According to QS rankings, it is placed 1201–1400 in the QS World University Rankings 2026 and 441–450 in the QS Asia University Rankings, and it ranks among the leading universities in China and Asia in its specialized fields.
The launch of these new joint programs will give Ualikhanov University students greater opportunities for international academic experience, while enhancing their educational and professional competencies.
