UZBEKISTAN – the First International Tour of the Silver University

From April 21 to April 28, 2025, the first international tour of the Silver University took place in Uzbekistan. The country was chosen deliberately, based on the preferences of the participants. The tour covered two cities: Tashkent and Samarkand. The total number of participants was 32.

The purpose of the trip was to explore the culture, historical heritage, and modern development of a brotherly nation.

Participants visited the mausoleums of Tole Bi, Amir Timur, and his descendants, madrasahs built by Tamerlane and his sons, the Bibi-Khanym Mosque, Registan Square, and the Shakhi Zinda Islamic cultural memorial complex (11th–12th centuries). All these historical monuments are protected by UNESCO. The splendor of the blue domes and the deep messages of the past expressed through intricate mosaics captivated the minds of the participants and inspired them to further study the history of Uzbekistan.

The tour also included visits to modern cultural landmarks of Tashkent, such as the Amir Timur Museum, the new "Uzbekistan" park, the TV tower, the "Magic City" entertainment complex, and the metro system. Tour members were enchanted by the beauty of the parks and the stunning evening light installations of the "stone city."

One of the most impressive experiences was visiting the "Meros" paper mill. This unique village showcased ancient crafts including oil production, pottery, papermaking, children's toys, clothing, and carpets.

The most vivid and unforgettable impressions were left by the visit to the ancient cities that once stood along the Silk Road of human civilization.
