About the Department of Surgical Disciplines

The Department of Surgical Disciplines was created in September 2021.

The main goal of the department is to train qualified medical personnel in surgical disciplines throughincreasing the level of lectures as the leading form of training, introducing innovative forms of training, activating practical, laboratory and independent studies as effective forms of consolidating knowledge, imparting skills and abilities to students.

Since the foundation of the department, the head has been Ph.D. Ayaganov S.A.

Serik Akpenovich is a mentor to young professionals, active in the public life of the city and region, and enjoys well-deserved authority among colleagues and the population of the region. He was awarded the following orders: “Barys III degree” (2023), “Parasat” (2009), “Kurmet” (2002), many medals, and the badge “Excellence in Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan” (2002). The department employs qualified teachers with experience in both practical clinical and scientific-pedagogical activities:

Assistant Professor PhD Marat Aizada Maratovna, Associate Professor Marzhan Nurkenovna Myrzakhanova, Aizhan Dulathanovna Khasenova, Maralbek Zhinalysovich Zhinalys. Teachers with knowledge of English: Kabdrashitov Zhambyl Dulatovich, Alpilam Zhuldyz, Abishev Bolat Kalkamanovich, Kabiden Aibar Gabdulsattaruly.

Teachers are actively introducing innovative technologies and methods into the educational process, which includes the use of modern educational materials, educational platforms, virtual tools and interactive forms of learning. The use of innovative methods makes it possible not only to effectively convey information, but also makes learning more interesting and accessible to students.

This approach promotes the development of creative thinking, problem-solving skills, and also prepares students to use modern technologies and innovations in future medical practice.

The main objectives of the department are:

- organization and implementation of educational and scientific-methodological work at a high level;

- educational work among students;

- scientific research on the profile of the department;

- training of scientific and pedagogical personnel and improvement of their qualifications;

- qualified explanatory work on QMS among department employees;

- maintaining effective functioning, constant development and increasing the effectiveness of the educational and methodological activities of the department in accordance with the requirements of the standards;

- determining the responsibility of each employee for the quality of work performed, the fullest possible involvement of personnel in achieving the goals of the department;

- provision of educational and methodological services at a highly professional level, the desire to achieve the best results achieved in this area in world practice;

Scientific and practical work:

The student scientific circle “Aesculap” is actively working at the department, headed by assistant lecturer Kabdrashitov Zh.D.

Scientific and practical conferences are held annually with the invitation of foreign and domestic professors.

Educational and methodical work:

The work of the department is organized in accordance with the work plan of the department, which includes educational, methodological, research work, and educational activities.

In order to exchange experience, experienced teachers from leading universities in the country are invited annually as part of Academic Mobility.

The clinical bases of the department of surgical disciplines are specialized departments of the Multidisciplinary Regional Hospital, Multidisciplinary City Hospital, Multidisciplinary Regional Children's Hospital, which are equipped with the most modern medical equipment. During the educational process, students become familiar with the operation of an angiographic unit, where both diagnostic and endovascular surgical interventions are widely used. In traumatology practice, endoprosthetics of large joints is used, and minimally invasive technologies are used in the surgical and urological departments.

At the meeting of the department, issues of student performance and attendance, individual work plans of teachers, scientific and educational activities and current issues are discussed.

"Otorhinolaryngology" “Traumatology”, “General anesthesiology and resuscitation”, “Urology”, “Pediatric surgery”

The disciplines of the department are taught in three languages: Kazakh, Russian, English.

All technical and information capabilities are available to conduct module-rating control of students’ knowledge.
