In order to implement the tasks of the idea of the President of the country K.-J. Tokayev "Look into the future: modernization of social consciousness" by order of the Rector of NPJSC "Kokshetau University named after Sh. Ualikhanov", a structural unit "Institute of Continuing Education" was created (15.11.2021).
The purpose of the Institute of Continuing Education:
Improvement and development of the system of continuing education in accordance with the needs of the labor market and intellectual socio-economic development of the region, meeting educational and professional needs, professional development of a person, ensuring the compliance of his qualifications to the changing conditions of professional activity and social environment.

The students studying in ICE and KU named after Sh. Ualikhanov have an opportunity to get acquainted with the latest achievements of scientists conducting fundamental and applied research in relevant branches of natural sciences and humanities.
Under the guidance of the leading scientists of the University - Candidates of Sciences-95, Doctors of Sciences - 21 and PhD-24, foreign teachers - 62 faculty members - 410. Training is carried out on the basis of 2 institutes, 2 Higher School, 18 departments, 1 research institute, 3 scientific laboratories and 1 scientific center of the university on flexible curricula with maximum consideration of the needs of universities and interests of students.
Objectives of the Institute of Continuing Education:
- Determining priority educational strategies for education staff based on the principles of state educational policy;
- Equipping teachers with scientific-theoretical and practical knowledge;
- Developing scientific and practical methods of results-oriented education;
- Introducing new pedagogical technologies in the educational process for the professional development of the region's education staff;
- Management and organization of experimental sites and research;
- Dissemination of advanced pedagogical experience, provision of methodological manuals for teachers;
- Issue of informational and methodical materials;
- Organization of retraining courses for each branch, taking into account the specific development of the region by establishing business contacts, creating an effective system of professional development of personnel;
- Development of educational and methodical materials for training of different categories of specialists.
Main types of work:
- Creation of an effective system of professional development of personnel with the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs "Atameken", Department of Education of Akmola region, education departments of Akmola region taking into account the specific development of the region of retraining courses;
- Expansion of professional opportunities by obtaining additional qualifications due to changes in the structure of the labor market;
- Increasing the professional level of pedagogical and managerial staff;
- Strengthening cooperation between the University and employers;
- Developing an effective model of professional development in Kazakhstan based on international experience;
- Organization of digital literacy courses for teachers.
