Today, Ualikhanov University hosted an international scientific conference dedicated to the 190th anniversary of the great scholar.
The conference, titled "Shokan Ualikhanov’s Legacy: Regional Perspectives and Global Perspectives." became an important platform for strengthening new academic and educational connections.
- The conference opened with a flower-laying ceremony at the bust of Shokan Ualikhanov on the university campus.
- A special exhibition organized by the university’s scientific library showcased Ualikhanov’s life and contributions.
- During the conference:
- Dr. Meerim Kurmanbekovna Kolbayeva (Kyrgyz Republic) delivered an insightful presentation on the study of the "Manas" epic and Valikhanov’s scientific heritage.
- Professor Bulent Tarman (USA), editor-in-chief of three Scopus journals, shared his expertise.
- Notable Kazakhstani scholars -Ziyabek Ermukhanovich Kabuldinov, Zharas Akishovich Yermekbay, and Ordenbek Blisbekovich Mazbayev - joined the conference via Zoom.
- Expanding international cooperation and supporting young researchers remain among the university’s top priorities.
In this regard, four named scholarships honoring Shokan Ualikhanov will be established.
Today’s event was not only a tribute to a great legacy but also an inspiring day that opened new research opportunities for the younger generation!
