Another academic year—the fourth—at the Silver University of Ualikhanov University concluded with a festive ceremony that included the awarding of Certificates, Letters of Appreciation, and course completion reports. Vice-Rector for Research and Regional Cooperation Aigul Zhakupova congratulated the graduates on their academic achievements and active participation throughout the year.
It was noted that joining the International Association of Universities of the Third Age (AIUTA) (France, Toulouse) and the establishment of the Kazakhstan Association of Silver Universities based at Ualikhanov University in Kokshetau brought a new level of quality to the implementation of educational courses and had a positive impact on the development of the project overall.
During the 2024–2025 academic year, the total number of participants reached 138. In general, 13 courses were delivered, 27 free master classes were held, and 7 tours across Kazakhstan and an excursion tour to Uzbekistan were organized.
University lecturers, specialists, Silver University participants, and undergraduate students received Letters of Appreciation from the Rector of the university, Marat Syrlybayev, for their active contributions throughout the academic year. Among those recognized were 2nd-year student Vitaliy Marchenko, who taught the course “Excel for Beginners,” participants Valentina Sozinova and Valentina Suleimenova, leaders of the “Healthy Nutrition” club, entrepreneur Olesya Rodina, who organized the Uzbekistan tour, and many others who helped make the lives of senior citizens brighter, more engaging, and enriched with new skills and experiences.
Director of the Center for Active Longevity in Kokshetau, Bakhyt Smagul, congratulated the graduates and wished them many more years of active life.
The main achievements of the participants were demonstrated on stage through various performances by Silver University groups.
Aigul Zhakupova announced that in the next academic year, 19 themed courses will be launched for citizens aged 55+, an international tour to China and participation in a summer school at the University of Economics in Bratislava, Slovakia are planned.
The most anticipated event for Silver University participants is the creation of a Central Asian Hub of Silver Universities, which will include not only Kazakhstan but also Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Tajikistan.
