History of the Chair

The Department of Clinical Disciplines of the Higher School of Medicine has been organized since the founding of the Faculty of Medicine at Kokshetau University named after Sh. Ualikhanov in 2018 and is considered one of the basic departments.

The main objective of the Department is to provide students with modern fundamental knowledge in the field of clinical development, taking into account current advances in medical science. The clinical bases of the Department include the Akmola Regional Multidisciplinary Hospital, City Multidisciplinary Hospital, Regional Children's Multidisciplinary Hospital, Infectious Diseases Center, district hospitals of Akmola Region, as well as the “Viamedis” City Polyclinic and the Central Polyclinic of Kokshetau. All clinical bases are equipped with modern medical devices. The Department trains students and medical interns in therapeutic disciplines.

From the moment of opening until 2023, the department was headed by Ph.D. Turlubekov Kairat Karaevich, where the staff of the department included Ebelekova Liza Ergalievna, Mukatova Raikhan Ergalievna, Isakov Olzhas Baglanovich.

Since September 2023, the Department was headed by MBA, PhD Shynar Kulbayeva.Since February 2025, the Department has been headed by Doctor of the Highest Category Saule Gabdisalimovna Abdikazimova.The teaching staff is fully staffed: Doctor of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor, Professor Bakyt Kabdenovna Iskakova; PhD Shynar Kulbayeva; Candidate of Medical Sciences Ernazar Tuleubergenov; Candidate of Medical Sciences Botagoz Nukutova; Svetlana Khasenova; and Raikhan Mukatova—all of whom have extensive experience in practical healthcare. Young lecturers Zhanbota Dyusembina and Nauryzbai Smagul teach in English.

The following lecturers combine teaching and clinical practice: Doctor of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Svetlana Muratbekova, Liza Yebelekova, Alma Raeva, Arkhat Rakhmetzhanov, Botagoz Tileubayeva, Aslan Salmukhametov, and Monisha Baid. The faculty and staff contribute to the students’ mastery of modern diagnostic and treatment methods, emphasizing adherence to the principles of medical ethics and deontology. The clinical bases of the Higher School of Medicine meet modern requirements and are equipped with up-to-date equipment and laboratories for a wide range of studies.

The goal of the department is to create favorable conditions for students to acquire knowledge and skills, professional skills that meet the needs of employers, at the same time, to train qualified specialists with deep theoretical knowledge and sufficient professional skills , to develop and implement modern fundamentals of the scientific organization of the educational process, and to introduce new technologies for teaching and learning. education , high-quality organization and conduct of training sessions, practical seminars and independent work of students , strengthening the material and technical base and human resources.

The student scientific circle “Young Researcher” is actively working at the department . Every year scientific and practical conferences are organized with the invitation of foreign and domestic professors.

The work of the department is organized in accordance with the plan, which includes educational and methodological, clinical and research work, educational activities.

To assess students’ practical skills, the Simulation Center is used, employing innovative teaching methods and modern technologies to develop practical medical competencies.

The department's disciplines are taught in three languages: Kazakh, Russian and English.

Currently, the base of the Department of Clinical Disciplines is located in the building of the Oncology Dispensary, at the address: Akan Sery Street, 1B (Room 409).
