On June 3-4, 2024, Ualikhanov University hosted the capstone event of the project “Scaffolding Pedagogical University Development 2024”. The closing ceremony was attended by Kevin McCaughey, Head of the Regional Office of English Language Programs, Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Nargiza Nugmanova, RELO assistant, Olga Paterova, English Language Program Coordinator of the US Embassy in Kazakhstan, Astana, English teachers from the cities of Aktobe, Aktau , Kokshetau, Kostanay, Kyzylorda, Taraz, Shymkent, Uralsk, rural teachers from North Kazakhstan region, Akmola, Zhambyl, Turkestan, Kostanay, Kyzylorda regions.
The goal of the project is to modernize the teaching of English through training English teachers in secondary schools and colleges in modern methods of developing educational curricula in English. The project is administered by ARELTA (Association of English Language Teachers and Teachers of the Akmola Region), which won a grant for the implementation of this project as part of a competition announced by the Public Affairs Section, US Embassy in Kazakhstan, Astana. More than 300 English teachers from different cities of Kazakhstan took part in the project. As part of the closing, there will be a defense of projects, at which project participants from different cities of Kazakhstan presented their original programs and methodological developments.
