On May 15, Ualikhanov University welcomed an official delegation of the Federal Republic of Germany led by Dr. Bernd Fabritius, Commissioner of the Federal Government for Matters Related to Ethnic German Resettlers and National Minorities.

The delegation brought together representatives of the German Federal Ministry of the Interior, the Embassy of Germany in Kazakhstan, the Goethe-Institut, the Institute for Foreign Cultural Relations (ifa), the Foundation for the Support of Ethnic Germans Abroad, as well as representatives of public organizations.

As part of the visit, a meeting was held with the university leadership, students, and faculty members of the Department of General Linguistics and Literature, which offers German language training programs. The event also gathered school teachers, graduates of the German-language track of the “Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages” educational program, as well as university staff and faculty members.

Professor L. Baimanova, Head of the Department of General Linguistics and Literature, lecturer N. Stolyarenko, and D. Grishchenko delivered presentations highlighting the department’s academic and educational activities.

The discussions focused on strengthening international cooperation, promoting the German language, expanding academic mobility opportunities, and developing cultural and educational initiatives between Kazakhstan and Germany.

In their presentations, Head of the International Cooperation Department Y. Rakhymzhanov and Assistant Professor, Candidate of Economic Sciences A. Belgibayeva spoke about Ualikhanov University’s growing cooperation with German universities in the fields of international relations, academic mobility, German language education, and joint research projects.

The visit became an important high-level platform for advancing Kazakh-German cooperation in science, education, and intercultural dialogue.

The participation of representatives of the German Federal Government, relevant ministries, and international organizations highlighted the strong level of trust and the growing importance of academic and humanitarian ties between Kazakhstan and Germany.
