Ualikhanov University and School-Gymnasium No. 20 in Kokshetau have signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen cooperation in teacher education and professional development.
The agreement was signed by Ardak Kapyshev, Vice-Rector for Social and Cultural Development at Ualikhanov University, and Manargul Tokhan, Principal of School-Gymnasium No. 20.
The partnership aims to strengthen ties between the university and the school, enhance practical training opportunities for future teachers, and support joint educational initiatives.
A working meeting was also held with Sayan Balpanova, Head of the University's Career and Employment Center. Discussions focused on providing teaching placements for university students, facilitating professional exchange with school teachers, organizing career guidance activities for pupils, and supporting employment opportunities for recent graduates. Both parties identified key areas for future collaboration.
School-Gymnasium No. 20 is a modern educational institution that opened in 2025 under Kazakhstan's national Comfortable School project. The school currently serves 1,300 pupils, with all classes operating on a single-shift schedule. Particular emphasis is placed on language learning and extracurricular education.
Notably, 70% of the school's teaching staff are Ualikhanov University alumni, highlighting the university's contribution to teacher education and the development of the region's education sector.
The new partnership will create further opportunities for hands-on teacher training, stronger connections between higher education and schools, and the professional development of future educators.
