On 4 August 2026, Ualikhanov University joined leading educational and research institutions from Kazakhstan and Southeast Asia in signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening international cooperation in STEM education leadership.

The partnership brings together the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA, Thailand), SEAMEO STEM-ED, SEAMEO INNOTECH, SEAMEO RECSAM, SEAMEO SEAMOLEC, the Caravan of Knowledge Foundation (Kazakhstan), and universities from Kazakhstan and across Southeast Asia.

The Memorandum establishes a framework for the joint development and implementation of the Regional Joint Leadership Diploma Programme in STEM Education Leadership, an international initiative designed to prepare the next generation of leaders in STEM education.

The agreement provides for:

  • the joint development of academic programmes and diploma courses;
  • academic collaboration and the exchange of expertise among partner institutions;
  • collaborative research projects and international conferences, seminars, and other academic events;
  • professional development opportunities for educational leaders, university faculty, and education policy specialists;
  • the promotion of international quality standards and innovative approaches to STEM education.

Participation in this initiative creates new opportunities for Ualikhanov University to strengthen its international academic partnerships, contribute to collaborative research and educational projects, enhance faculty professional development, and support the preparation of future leaders in STEM education.
