“Science Talks: Science and Society - The Voice of Women Scientists” Meeting Held as Part of Science Days
Why does society need scientific research? How does science influence everyday life? Why is it important to engage young people in research activities? These and other questions were discussed at the meeting “Science Talks: Science and Society - The Voice of Women Scientists”, held as part of the Science Days on the initiative of the Akmola Regional Branch of the AMANAT Party. The event brought together representatives of science, society, and active youth. Members of the Women’s Wing of the AMANAT Party and women scientists from Ualikhanov University took part in the meeting.
The goal of the meeting was to increase interest in science and inspire young people to pursue research activities.
Chairman of the Akmola Regional Branch of the AMANAT Party, Bergen Bespalinov, delivered a welcoming speech, emphasizing that the development of science and support for young researchers are essential for the sustainable development of society.
Chairwoman of the Women’s Wing of the Akmola Regional Branch of the AMANAT Party, Ainagul Baltasheva, noted that the contribution of women scientists plays an important role in strengthening the country’s intellectual potential.
Vice-Rector for Research and Regional Engagement at Ualikhanov University, Doctor of Philological Sciences Aigul Zhakupova, spoke about the active participation of women scientists in research projects in the Akmola region and highlighted their contribution to the development of science and society.
The key feature of the meeting was its open scientific dialogue format. Scientists spoke about their research in a simple and accessible way, sharing real stories, practical cases, and the results of their scientific projects. Participants were able to see how science brings practical benefits to society and how research results are applied in everyday life and industry.
The speakers included university scientists Aigul Kurmanbayeva, Dinara Kaumetova, Kulsara Rustemova, and Gulgul Iskakova, who presented their research in the fields of ecology, mining engineering, medicine, and philology, demonstrating how scientific ideas turn into practical solutions for society.
For their contribution to the development of science and active public engagement, the speakers were awarded Letters of Appreciation from the Akmola Regional Branch of the AMANAT Party.
The meeting became a platform where science was presented in an accessible and inspiring way, helping to highlight the importance of scientific research and encouraging young people’s interest in research activities.
