Ualikhanov University Holds Emergency Response and Fire Safety Drills

Throughout September, Ualikhanov University conducted a series of emergency response, anti-terrorism and fire safety drills across its academic buildings and student dormitories.The training sessions were organized by the University Security Service in cooperation with the Akmola Region Police Department and emergency services in Kokshetau as part of the University’s approved safety action plan and roadmap.

Faculty members, administrative staff and students practiced how to respond effectively in various emergency situations. Participants received practical guidance and step-by-step instructions on what to do in the event of a terrorist threat. Officers from the Special Rapid Response Unit demonstrated basic self-defense techniques, while emergency services specialists explained how to use fire extinguishers correctly and how to respond in the event of a fire.

The practical part of the training included evacuation drills from academic buildings and student dormitories, as well as hands-on fire extinguisher practice using controlled fires. These exercises gave participants an opportunity to develop practical self-protection and fire safety skills in scenarios designed to simulate real-life emergencies as closely as possible.

The training was aimed at equipping students and staff with the knowledge and practical skills needed to respond safely and appropriately in emergency situations, protect themselves and others in the event of an attack or terrorist threat, and use primary firefighting equipment effectively.

Regular safety drills are an important part of building a strong culture of preparedness across the University. They help students and staff understand how to respond in critical situations and develop the practical skills needed to act calmly, quickly and appropriately when faced with a real emergency.
