On June 8, 2026, the first-ever Summer School of the Kazakhstan Association of Silver Universities (KASU) officially opened at the Tulpar Sports and Recreation Complex of Ualikhanov University.
The opening ceremony featured welcoming remarks by Ardak Kapyshyev, Vice Rector for Social and Cultural Development of Ualikhanov University, and Ainur Shukeyeva, Director of the Institute of Continuing Education, who highlighted the importance of lifelong learning and initiatives that support active ageing.
The event’s distinguished guest, Bakhytzhamal Seitzhanova, Chair of the Sandyktau District Council of Veterans, emphasized the value of educational programs that empower older generations and encourage active participation in society.
The Summer School has brought together 33 participants from six universities across Kazakhstan, as well as the Active Longevity Center of Kokshetau.
Throughout the week, participants will have the opportunity to engage in nine educational courses covering health and wellness, creativity, digital literacy, psychology, physical activity, and personal development. The program also includes daily cultural and recreational activities designed to foster communication, facilitate the exchange of experience, and build a vibrant community committed to active ageing.
Invited speakers include faculty members from Ualikhanov University, M. Kozybayev North Kazakhstan University, and Toraighyrov University.
The KASU Summer School marks an important step in promoting lifelong learning, fostering partnerships between universities, and inspiring active, meaningful, and lifelong engagement in education across Kazakhstan.
