At Ualikhanov Universitythe Republican Debate Tournament “SHOQAN CUP III” has concluded

On May 23–24, 2026, Ualikhanov University hosted the Republican Debate Tournament “SHOQAN CUP III” within the framework of the theme “Fair Kazakhstan: Law and Order,” organized by the “Ziyatker” Debate Club.

More than 50 teams from across the country applied to participate in the tournament. Based on participants’ achievements and regional rankings, 32 top teams were selected. Debaters from Astana, Almaty, Kostanay, Pavlodar, Atyrau, Semey, Karaganda, Petropavlovsk, and other cities took part in the event.

During the tournament, participants competed in debates to determine the strongest teams.

According to the results of the tournament, the winners are:

“Main League” winners – “A Ushin” faction:

• Alikhan Aitbayev (L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University)

“Youth League” winners:

• Eskermes Nursultan (Akhmet Baitursynuly Kostanay Regional University)
• Izban Azat (L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University)

“Best Speaker” – Ilyas Maratov (Abylkas Saginov Karaganda Technical University)

“Best Speaker” – Alikhan Aitbayev (L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University)

“Best Young Speaker” – Ferizat Aliyppaikyzy (Toraighyrov University)

“Best Adjudicator” – Muratbek Shugyla (Ualikhanov University)

The Republican Debate Tournament “SHOQAN CUP III” became one of the key platforms aimed at developing public speaking skills, critical thinking, and socio-political engagement among youth.
