Senior Methodologist, Preparatory Department
The Preparatory Department is a structural unit of the Institute of Continuing Education at the Non-Profit Joint-Stock Company “Sh. Ualikhanov Kokshetau University.”
Department’s purpose
The Department prepares learners for admission to higher education institutions in Kazakhstan, develops the academic and language skills they need, and supports their adaptation to the educational environment in Kazakhstan.
Who may apply
The Preparatory Department admits citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan, foreign citizens, and ethnic Kazakhs who are not citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Admission process and dates
- Prepare the documents required for your applicant category.
- Applications are accepted from August 5 through September 5 of each calendar year. Submit them in paper or electronic form, as specified in the annual admissions notice.
- The competitive selection process takes place from September 10 through September 15. The exact date, time, format, and location are announced by the University each year.
- Enrollment takes place from September 25 through September 28. Classes begin on October 1. The programme lasts 9 months.
Documents required for admission
Citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan: application for admission; identity document; education document and its supplement; medical certificate (Form 075/u).
Foreign citizens and ethnic Kazakhs who are not citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan: application for admission; identity document; education document and its supplement; a notarized translation if the documents are in a foreign language; a medical certificate issued by an official healthcare authority in the applicant’s country of residence; and a document confirming ethnic Kazakh origin, translated into Kazakh or Russian.
Education documents issued by foreign educational organizations are subject to recognition after enrollment, in accordance with the established procedure.
Mode and language of study
Study is full-time and is conducted in Kazakh and Russian.
Regulatory basis
The Department operates in accordance with the Rules for Organizing the Activities of Preparatory Departments of Higher and/or Postgraduate Education Organizations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, approved by Order No. 554 of the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 30, 2011, as amended.
