On August 20, 2026, the Ualikhanov University working group involved in the DIANA project took part in the “One Village – One Product” exhibition held in Kokshetau. The event brought together more than 50 producers from various districts of Akmola Region.
The exhibition provided an important platform for learning about local entrepreneurial initiatives and products made using locally sourced materials. The participants presented a wide range of goods, including food products, handicrafts, traditional clothing, jewelry made from natural materials, furniture, interior items, and other products created by rural and urban entrepreneurs. One of the key requirements for participation in the competition is the use of domestic raw materials, meaning that the products must be made entirely from raw materials sourced in Kazakhstan.
For the DIANA project working group, particular interest was focused on meeting women entrepreneurs from rural areas and learning about their experiences in establishing and developing their own businesses.
Direct interaction with women entrepreneurs is particularly important for the DIANA project, one of whose key objectives is to support the development of women’s entrepreneurship and expand women’s economic opportunities in rural areas. Participation in events of this kind provides a valuable opportunity to gain a better understanding of the actual needs of women entrepreneurs, the barriers they face, and the opportunities available to strengthen their skills, promote their products, and expand their businesses.
The “One Village – One Product” initiative also demonstrates the considerable potential of local entrepreneurship and community-based initiatives.
For the DIANA team, visiting the exhibition was an opportunity to establish new contacts with women entrepreneurs and learn about real examples of entrepreneurial activity in the rural districts of Akmola Region. The experience gained and the new connections established will be valuable for the further implementation of project activities aimed at developing entrepreneurial skills and supporting women in rural areas.
