Ualikhanov University Team Wins Second Place at HackAlem AI 2026

ShoqanTandau, a team from Ualikhanov University, secured second place in the Logistics category at HackAlem AI 2026, a major AI hackathon held in Astana.

This year’s competition featured more than 1,000 AI-powered solutions, with only 60 projects advancing to the final round. Despite the strong competition, the university team stood out among the finalists and earned a place on the podium.

The ShoqanTandau team consists of university lecturers Tamirlan Zhanadilov and Ansagan Kabdolla, along with student Amandyk Aueskhanuly.

During the hackathon, the team developed an AI-powered system to address a real business challenge presented by «Elektrokомplekt». The solution automates the process of placing orders with suppliers by analysing inventory levels and product demand, helping businesses plan purchases more efficiently.

The project demonstrated how artificial intelligence can be applied to real-world business operations to streamline processes and solve practical challenges.

This year, 27 participants represented Ualikhanov University at HackAlem AI 2026. They presented their own AI-powered solutions, showcased their projects to industry experts, exchanged ideas and gained valuable opportunities to build professional connections.
