The first Summer School of the Kazakhstan Association of Silver Universities (KASU), hosted at the Tulpar Sports and Recreation Complex of Ualikhanov University, has successfully concluded. Bringing together participants from across Kazakhstan, the initiative created a dynamic platform for lifelong learning, interuniversity collaboration, and the exchange of best practices in non-formal education for older adults.

Over the course of the week, participants developed new knowledge and practical skills in a wide range of areas, including swimming, archery, yoga, traditional Kazakh games, the Kazakh language, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity. The program also featured daily wellness exercises, walks through the pine forests of Zerendi, excursions to the Ulgili Waterfall and Burabay National Park, as well as a variety of sports and educational activities.

The Summer School served as an important step in promoting lifelong learning, active ageing, and social engagement. It also strengthened cooperation among Silver Universities across the country, fostering professional dialogue and the sharing of innovative educational approaches.

The program concluded with a memorable evening gathering around a campfire, where participants, instructors, and organizers came together in an atmosphere of warmth and appreciation. Attendees expressed their sincere gratitude to the organizing team, the Summer School lecturers, and the staff of the Tulpar Sports and Recreation Complex for their professionalism, hospitality, and the comfortable learning environment they created.

The closing celebration featured a campfire tea gathering and a festive cake presented by Marat Kadyruly Syrlybayev, President of the Kazakhstan Association of Silver Universities and Rector of Ualikhanov University.

The successful launch of the first KASU Summer School marks an important milestone in the development of lifelong and non-formal education for older adults in Kazakhstan, laying the foundation for the initiative to become an annual national platform for learning, collaboration, and active ageing.
