The national book reading marathon “Reading Nation” has officially started in Kazakhstan. The project aims to promote reading, develop a strong reading culture, and encourage greater interest in books.
The marathon is held across seven categories: “Reading School,” “Reading Teacher,” “Reading College,” “Reading University,” “Reading Civil Servant,” “Reading Family,” and “Reading Intellectual.” Participants can choose the category that best applies to them.
University students can take part in the “Reading University” category. During the marathon, participants are expected to read 15 books from the approved reading list, share their reviews, and earn points. The final stage will include tests and intellectual quizzes, which will determine the finalists and winners.
The project will run from September 2026 to March 2027, with the final stages taking place in March–April 2027. Registration is open until September 15, 2026.
In addition to students, university faculty and staff can also participate by selecting the appropriate category. There is no age limit for participation.
Ualikhanov University encourages all students, faculty, and staff to take part in the national marathon and support this initiative to promote a culture of reading.
