On September 26, as part of Kazakhstan’s nationwide environmental campaign Taza Qazaqstan, the Kokshetau City Akimat, the Youth Resource Center, and Ualikhanov University joined forces to hold a plogging event bringing together university students, local youth, volunteers, and representatives of various organizations.
The event began with a group warm-up before participants set off along the designated route. Starting from Ualikhanov University, they made their way towards Bukpa Hill, combining physical activity with a shared commitment to a cleaner city.
Along the route, participants collected litter while walking and running. This is the idea behind plogging — an environmental movement that combines an active lifestyle with practical action to keep public spaces clean and protect the environment.
Initiatives like this help foster environmental awareness among young people, encourage healthier lifestyles, and demonstrate how individual actions can contribute to positive change in the wider community.
Through its participation in Taza Qazaqstan, Ualikhanov University continues to encourage students to take an active role in environmental initiatives and contribute to a more responsible and sustainable culture.
A cleaner environment is a shared responsibility.
