On 21 May 2026, Seifullin University in Astana hosted the Erasmus+ Regional Info Day and the conference “Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education” within the framework of the Technical Assistance Mission (TAM). The event was organized by the Erasmus+ National Office in Kazakhstan with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA).

The event brought together Kazakhstan’s Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek, EU Ambassador to Kazakhstan Aleška Simkić, Erasmus+ Project Officer María Sol Domínguez Parrado, representatives of Erasmus+ National Offices from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, the HERE team from Kyrgyzstan, and higher education institutions from across Central Asia.

Discussions focused on Erasmus+ opportunities in the region, successful practices in Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) projects, Jean Monnet initiatives, academic mobility, international cooperation, and the growing role of artificial intelligence in transforming higher education.

As part of the programme, universities presented their international projects and innovative solutions at the Erasmus+ and AI Exhibition, creating new opportunities for networking, knowledge exchange and future partnerships.

Ualikhanov University showcased four Erasmus+ projects:

  • DIANA – Empowering Women through the Development and Implementation of Rural Tourism Entrepreneurship in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan;
