As part of the “Visiting Professors” program, lectures by Ekaterina Bazilevskaya, a professor at Pennsylvania State University (Pennsylvania, USA), are being held at Sh. Ualikhanov Kokshetau University from June 13 to 26, 2026.
For PhD students of the Department of Mining, Construction and Ecology, a 30 academic-hour course titled “Assessment of Environmental and Climate Risks of Agrolandscapes in the Akmola Region” is being delivered.
The course covers modern methods of assessing environmental and climate risks, approaches to analyzing the sustainability of agrolandscapes, as well as issues of rational natural resource management and ecosystem adaptation to climate change. Special attention is given to environmental challenges and climate-related issues in the Akmola Region.
In addition to delivering lectures, Professor Ekaterina Bazilevskaya provides консультации (consultations) to PhD students on their dissertation topics, offers expert support in developing research projects, and participates in discussions of research findings. The visit also includes efforts to develop joint research initiatives and prepare publications in international peer-reviewed journals.
The implementation of the program contributes to the development of international academic cooperation, strengthening scientific ties, and improving the quality of training for young researchers.
