On June 26, 2026, Ualikhanov University hosted the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Integrating Intercultural Education in the Classroom: European and Kazakh Experiences", held as part of the European Union: Promoting Cultural Diversity and Tolerance (EUDIVE) project under the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Module programme.
The conference brought together academics, researchers, and students to explore current approaches to intercultural education, the promotion of cultural diversity and tolerance, and the integration of international best practices into higher education.
Project Coordinator Ainagul Ismagulova, together with project team members Gulmira Rakisheva and Elmira Gerfanova, presented the outcomes of the EUDIVE Jean Monnet Module and shared research highlighting the project's contribution to promoting European values, fostering intercultural dialogue, and strengthening a culture of tolerance.
Students from the Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages programme - Aruzhan Kauzhan, Anastasia Baranova, and Madina Kuishbayeva - delivered presentations on the role of young people in promoting inclusion and shared values. They also shared their experiences of participating in academic mobility programmes at European universities.
An international keynote address was delivered by Magdalena Gałaj, representing Lodz University of Technology (TUL) and IATEFL Poland (International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language). She presented European approaches to teachers' professional development and shared best practices in teacher education from across Europe.
The conference concluded with an engaging discussion on the future of intercultural education, opportunities to strengthen international academic collaboration, and the integration of European best practices into Kazakhstan's higher education system.
