On April 15, Ualikhanov University hosted a ceremonial event dedicated to the Day of Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The celebration brought together faculty members, distinguished scholars, young researchers, students, master’s and doctoral candidates, as well as representatives of the business community and the university’s partners.

The event opened with welcoming remarks by Ernar Zharkeshov, Deputy Akim of the Akmola Region, who congratulated the academic community on their professional holiday and presented certificates of honor and letters of appreciation from the Akim of the region to a number of outstanding scientists.

Chairman of the Board – Rector of Ualikhanov University Marat Syrlybayev summarized the university’s research performance and highlighted the key achievements of its scientific community. In his address, he noted that 2025 marked a breakthrough year for research and innovation at the university: 57 research projects were successfully implemented, with total funding exceeding 1.8 billion tenge. Among the most notable achievements was the award of a 3-billion-tenge mega-grant for the establishment of the Center for Academic and Research Excellence, along with the launch of five state-of-the-art research laboratories.

The university also strengthened its publication record: in 2025, its scholars published 22 monographs and 144 research articles indexed in the Scopus and Web of Science databases, and secured 10 patents and 24 certificates of authorship.

A highlight of the ceremony was the awards presentation, where leading scientists, faculty members, and young researchers were honored with letters of appreciation, certificates of merit, and monetary awards. The event also recognized national awards received by the university’s scholars.

The festive atmosphere was enriched by musical performances from artists of the Akmola Regional Philharmonic and talented university students.

The celebration concluded in an inspiring and uplifting spirit, underscoring the vital role of science in advancing society. Recognizing the achievements of researchers is particularly meaningful, as scientific progress demands dedication, perseverance, and intellectual curiosity.
