Ualikhanov University Hosts Eco Hour “Save Water - Secure the Future”
On April 30, 2026, Ualikhanov University held an eco hour titled “Save Water – Secure the Future” as part of the national program Adal Azamat (Responsible Citizen). The event was initiated by the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
Students from universities and colleges across the Akmola region joined the session online via YouTube.
The event aimed to promote the rational use of water resources, foster environmental awareness, and strengthen young people’s sense of responsibility for the environment.
The session opened with a welcome address by the Rector of Ualikhanov University, Marat Syrlybayev, who highlighted the university’s ongoing projects in water research and quality monitoring.
Among the speakers were Vice Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Talgat Momyshev, Deputy Akim of the Akmola Region Murat Balpan, and Director of “Adam Agro” LLP Narmukhan Sarybayev.
The discussion focused on key issues such as water conservation policies, environmental safety, and the future of water resources. Students actively participated, asking questions and engaging in an open dialogue.
In addition, students who demonstrated outstanding involvement in research and volunteer initiatives related to sustainable water use were awarded letters of appreciation from the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation.As part of the program, guests also explored the university’s research projects in water management and sustainable development, and visited the “Water Quality” Research Center and the NMR laboratory.
Events like this play an important role in shaping environmental awareness and promoting a culture of responsible interaction with nature among young people.
