Ualikhanov University Hosts Screening of Social Films on Crime Prevention
At Ualikhanov University, students of the Higher School of Business and Law attended a screening of short documentary films focused on preventing youth-related offenses. The event was held within the framework of the “Law and Order” concept.
The screening featured two films commissioned by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan: “Not Your Usual Bookmarks,” addressing the issue of drug distribution through so-called “dead drops,” and “Hooligan” highlighting the problem of bullying among young people.
Based on real-life cases, the films portray the stories of young individuals whose impulsive decisions led to serious consequences. This format offered a powerful and realistic perspective on the impact of unlawful behavior.
The screening was followed by an open discussion, where participants explored key issues related to drug-related crimes and bullying prevention.
The session featured guest experts from law enforcement agencies: Bekzat Nazarova, Operative Officer of the Akmola Region Police Department, and Razia Kursanova, Senior Operative Officer of the Anti-Narcotics Unit, Police Lieutenant Colonel.
The meeting was held in an open dialogue format, encouraging active student participation. Students asked questions, shared their perspectives, and engaged in a meaningful discussion on the topics raised.
Such initiatives play an important role in enhancing students’ legal awareness, promoting a culture of responsible behavior, and strengthening cooperation between the university and law enforcement agencies.
