On June 3, Ualikhanov University hosted the scientific and practical conference “K.B. Balakhmetov: Personality, Scholar, Public Figure”, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the birth of Kozhakhmet Balakhmetov - an outstanding educator, historian, and prominent public figure whose work left a lasting mark on Kazakhstan’s educational development.

The event brought together academics, educators, government representatives, public leaders, education veterans, and students to reflect on Balakhmetov’s remarkable legacy and his contribution to society.

The conference opened with welcoming remarks from Marat Syrlybayev, Rector of Ualikhanov University, and Meyram Mendybayev, Akim of Aiyrtau District.

Throughout the plenary session, speakers shared insights into Balakhmetov’s life, professional achievements, and enduring influence on the development of education and pedagogical thought in Kazakhstan. Discussions also explored the importance of preserving historical and educational heritage, strengthening intergenerational continuity, and fostering the values that shape future generations.

More than a commemorative event, the conference served as a platform for meaningful dialogue on the role of education, scholarship, and public service in addressing contemporary challenges while honoring the contributions of those who helped shape the nation's intellectual and cultural foundations.
