From June 15 to 26, Ualikhanov University hosted the professional development course "Criterion-Referenced Assessment Technologies in Higher Education," organized by the National Center for Higher Education Development of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The program brought together members of the University's academic staff.
The course focused on contemporary approaches to learning assessment and the continuous enhancement of teaching and learning practices in higher education. Participants explored the design of educational programs, the development of assessment criteria, descriptors and rubrics, principles of academic integrity, as well as the integration of digital technologies and generative artificial intelligence into the educational process.
The program was delivered by Alibek Madibekov, Director of the National Center for Higher Education Development; Olzhas Sakenov, Head of the My Profession – My Future project; and Marina Skiba, Senior Analyst at the National Center and an international expert in higher education. Throughout the course, participants were introduced to current best practices and modern assessment tools widely used in higher education.
