First national event of the international project "Accessibility and Harmonisation of Higher Education in Central Asia through Modernisation and Curriculum Development (АСADEMICA)»

On 7 December 2016, the first national event of the international project "Accessibility and Harmonisation of Higher Education in Central Asia through Modernisation and Curriculum Development (ACADEMICA)" took place at Kokshetau State University named after Sh. Ualikhanov.

• The meeting was attended by students and teachers of the Departments of Information Systems and Computer Engineering and Mining Engineering, representatives of enterprises and institutions of Akmola region, who are potential employers in the field of engineering and technical sciences. Many of them are graduates of our university and note that they are happy to cooperate with the university. Employers such as: Kokshetau Technical Institute of the Committee for Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the branch of JSC "NCAT "Orleu" IAT PW on Akmola region, Akmola RCIT JSC "NIT", Kokshetau branch of JSC "Tsesna Bank" and SI "Sevkaznedra" State Department of the Committee for Geology and Subsoil Use of the Ministry for Investment and Development of Kazakhstan. The first national event is devoted to the dissemination and clarification of the main provisions of the project "Accessibility and harmonization of higher education in Central Asia through modernization and curriculum development (ACADEMICA)".

The following organisational and methodological activities were carried out by the working group in the work of the Event:

• Anuar Ayazbayevich Kakabayev introduced the strategy and development of the international project;
• tutors Shayakhmetova A.A. and Muradilova G.S. told about methodological and applied features of the project;
• identified teachers who will be involved as lecturers in modernisation and updating of educational programmes in engineering and technology;
• approved the list of 1st and 2nd year students of the Faculty of "Engineering and Technology" who will participate in the experiment within the framework of the project implementation;
• the material and technical base to be updated and modernised was identified: laboratory, web resources, computer programmes, etc.

The active participation of the students, who showed their professional competence and knowledge in the field of information and communication technology, should be noted.
